Viognier originates from France, in the Rhone Valley where Condriwu wine is produced. This varietal wine is restricted to only using Viognier. The grape happens to be sensitive to powdery mildew, making it difficult to grow, yet it’s been planted around the world since the 1990s. The Viognier variety offers aromatics of fruit and low tannins, so it pairs nicely with spicy foods. Viognier wines are also known for their floral aromas and terpenes (that can’t put your finger on it flavour often found in Muscat and Riesling wines).
